A-Trane on CO-OP Radio with Nou Dadoun

Nou Dadoun, longtime host of A-Trane on Vancouver CO-OP Radio at 100.5 FM, conducted a wide-ranging interview with me about Journeys to the Bandstand for the radio show.

Nou, who wrote the Foreword for the book, generously devoted an entire 3.5 hour show to interviewing me and playing tunes that I wrote about in Journeys to the Bandstand (including rare, unreleased tracks).

Among the artists Nou played: Peter Bernstein with Tilden Webb, Jodi Proznick, and Jesse Cahill; Nikita Carter; Ornette Coleman (recorded live at Vancouver’s Old Cellar); Dylan Cramer; Sonny Criss; Hugh Fraser; Rick Kilburn; Al Neil with John Dawe and other musicians; Harold Land; Wes Montgomery and the Montgomery Brothers (recorded live at the original Cellar); Kenneth Patchen with Al Neil and other musicians; Art Pepper with Chris Gage, Stan “Cuddles” Johnson, and Jimmy Wightman (recorded live at the original Cellar);  Dave Quarin; the Ray Sikora Big Band (recorded live at the original Cellar); and Ross Taggart.

The show was broadcast March 15 and March 22, 2024, 2-5:30 pm. Listen to the recorded show on Mixcloud.
